Card boxes are  different and make you think outside the box ;)

They are very popular these days popping up on many different sites & blogs. They are a lot of fun to make but they do take a little more time than a regular card. After making my first Mother's Day card I've received many requests for similar cards. 

I could barely keep up with the Mother's Day card request so now I've stocked some Father's Day cards ahead so it won't be such a rush.

Golf theme birthday card. 

Most recently I was asked to make an anniversary card. I love the way it turned out. These small roses are so much fun to make! I think you'll be seeing more of these!

Take me away!

Come & take flight with this beautiful paper collection, balloon ride. How I love the coral in this pack. I wasn't that fond of it when I first saw it in the idea book but once I received the collection I could not put it down!  As part of the kit I put together this month, I included a memory showcase. What a great idea for a Mother's day gift!  

This month I shared instructions on making quick ribbon and fabric flowers using glübers. 

This is a picture of the back of my memory showcase. 

 It is nice to create your own embellishments to match the colors you're working with. 

Something else I wanted to showcase this month is the sunburst technique. It's been popping up on many different sites & seemed so complicated to do. I thought I would give it a try.  I couldn't believe how easy it was, really ?! That's it?!  

There are many video tutorials available on YouTube that will help you every step of the way. Go ahead, give it a try!

As a background for my chipboard on this card,  I used one of the cards from the balloon ride picture my life collection. You can have a card done in 2 minutes!

This was also a quick one using the rest of my coral paper. 

The memory showcase was fun to put together. A challenge to keep pictures at a minimum as well. I think my mom liked it! :)

I have been busy creating some custom card in a box. After showing everyone the Mother's Day card I made using the free to be me collection I was overwhelmed with orders. Mother's Day, Birthday, baby shower or Anniversary, whatever the occasion, giving such a beautiful & detailed card makes everyone feel special!  Stay tuned, pictures to come!

Good things, Small packaging

Crafting makes for a messy room. Cleaning it up just to mess it all up again. When I have a few projects on the go I like to set up a few tables and move along from project to project. This way everything is in hands reach and when you get stuck on a project you can move on to the next and come back to it later.

Easter has come and gone.  I made some little treat boxes using CTMH  Lollydoodle paper.

Spring? Where are you?!

It's spring out there but it sure doesn't feel like it!  It's a good thing I'm stocked up on supplies so I can stay inside & play! :)

For the April crop I selected Ivy Lane paper kit & Stickers from Close to my Heart. 

Pretty colorful and spring like theme. 

This month I wanted to make some rosettes. Pretty and fairly simple to do, they add that much extra on your layout.  

I used a border punch on this one here. I cut 2 strips 1 1/2 x 11"  and used my scor board to scor every 1/4 inch. I then folded every scor and attached at each end.  It did take a few glue dots to get them to stay put. Just adds that extra little detail to your page! 

You can use them on more than just your layouts, they look great on cards too!

I also made a card with a flower using used fabric softener sheets. I must say these are my favorite flowers to make. Super easy and you can customize to your color scheme! You can spray them ink them and even use stickle-or all of the above!

And last but not least , I re-covered a notebook as a gift for a friend of mine. She's not a paper crafter but really liked this paper!  A co-worker made me a similar one for Christmas & I thought it was so pretty so I made one but put my spin on it. I love adding textures & layers.

Just can't put it away!

Did I mention, I love skylark! :). I just want to keep creating with this kit.  I'm in a card swap and for the month of March I decided to use this kit once again. All products used were from Close to my Heart except the raffia. 

Very simple and quick card to make. I also made a different variation. 

I never seem to have enough cards on hand and have to buy some most of the time as I don't have enough time. This swap is great as I'll have a nice stash of cards for every occasion. It's also nice to see the different ideas someone else has that you would not have thought of. 

I also used this same paper to recover a notebook to give as a gift. Quick and easy project & it doesn't get more personal than this!

Skylark! Oh how I love thee

LOVE the colors and papers and chipboard and..... Well everything about this collection really! 

This is the kit I selected for my March crop. I've had so much fun working with it that I just want to keep making mare layouts!! 

I made a few simple cards using January's sotm cross stitch. 

I also used the flower from the petite perks stamp set. I put my new alcohol markers to work! :)

I've added just a basic sentiment to this card and it works perfectly with this paper. 

Wouldn't be complete without a tag! So fun quick & easy to make!  I used our new embossing folder too. 

The colors I say!  I will def keep a stock of this paper! 

I was able to do quite a bit with this pack. Even used up all the scraps on the last layout

Here we go!

For the month of February I decided on Laughing Lola. I love how the blues and purples pop with that black. I made a 2 page layout with lots of detail & embellishments then I did 2 basic layouts with little detail. I love how both turned out!  Made a few cards with the rest of the paper from the kit. I probably have enough to do a few more & some tags too! 

Notice the detail on the black cardstock?  I used stencils to paint a pattern on the 2 page layout. On the other, I just added a faint paint using  a zigzag stencil. I like how subtle it is.
